I couldn't pass up on the chance to get some pictures of the girls in their Christmas jammies.  It was a fun project to work on.

Handmade Holiday

One day the stories behind this machine will be revealed.  Labor of love.

Quilt for my FIL.  Made out of plaid shirting that reminds me of him.

Last year I had this good idea for Dalanie's dance teacher.  This year we finally made it happen.  We cut out dancing girls and added snowflake tutus.  We put them up when Paunie was gone. The secret was driving her crazy, she was questioning everyone.  She has thanked us every class since for them.  

After new snow, the kids loaded up on the 4-wheeler to go and shovel snow.  I'm not sure how much shoveling they did, but they got treats everywhere they went.

Hudson got some components from Grandma and Grandpa Parish, some help on the saw from Grandpa Hillman and ended up with this adorable little camera that Ruby loves.

Christmas Day

I'm not quite sure how we managed it, but our Christmas morning got off to a slow start.  Hudson came into our room at 7:00am.  The girls were sleeping, so we had him wait.  I'm sure it was like torture to him.  But finally at 8:15am we had them line up in the hall and come out to the living room.

 What would be a little girl's first Christmas without a baby doll?

 The kids made each other gifts.  As you can see, Dalanie was very excited and happy about the wooden phone that she gave Delsie.  Delsie gave Dalanie a cherry scarf.

 Our family got a new computer.  Hudson is pretty excited and all the kids are ready to have more time on the computer.

 Hudson wins as the most gracious kid.  You could feel that he really appreciated his gifts.

 Brent got Ruby a little locket necklace.

 And Hudson made this camera for Ruby (with some help from Grandpa Hillman.)  She loved it.  And Ruby helped me make a personalized lunchbox for Hudson.

 The funniest gift were the Zoomies that I gave Brent.  The infomercial had nothing on Brent.

 Dalanie was so patient.  Her sewing machine was under a blanket and was the last thing uncovered.  I think her smile tells all.

 She spent a majority of Christmas day sewing up rice bags to give away.

Ugly Sweater Party: Hillman Style

We invited any available Hillmans over for an impromptu Christmas Eve party.  Almost everyone dressed up in their season's best (worst.)  Mel got creative and had her family dudded out.

 Evelyn wasn't the most cooperative Christmas tree.

 We even talked Grandma and Grandpa into getting festive for a photo shoot.

 Hudson had spent countless times rehearsing The Grinch.  He performed it nearly perfectly.  It really is quite hilarious (if you haven't heard it over and over.)

 After dinner we played a few minute to win it type games.  The kids really enjoyed the challenge.

 Grandma hosted a practice round for her gift exchange.  It is always a big hit.  (No telling, but Grandpa ended up with the boobie prize.)

 And to cap off our wonderful evening, the kids did a puppet show of the nativity while Todd narrated.

 The kids made sure to set out goodies for Santa and his reindeer.  Hudson loves to leave him notes too.

Christmas Festivities

Quintessential Christmas picture with screaming baby at the ward party. 

Hudson got to be a shepherd for the program.

We crowded into people's home when we were out caroling around the town-site.  It was a neat feeling, having all of that holiday spirit crammed into a confined space.

We invaded Betty and Darlo Hansen and Deloy and Jeanine Nelson.

I can't believe that Hudson is big enough to be considered a big kid.

We invited Fincks over to decorate gingerbread houses with us.

Ruby and her Joyschool class put on a little program for Grandparents and elderly in our ward.

In a class of six girls, you can imagine that the Mary role was highly sought after.  I don't know how Ruby lucked out.

We managed to hit the Jensen Grove live nativity with Jamie, Leslie, and kids.
